“ Less waste, better results – Standards increase efficiency “

The word; Standards, sounds quite simple and short but, it carries a large meaning, it carries fate. Organizations must go hand in hand with efficiency, no matter if they are private, public or under government. World has become a global village, science and technology has reached quite a milestones, cooperation is indeed the most essential element required among the organizations of the whole world. Standardization is required for the best interests of the organizations which are active throughout the world. a systematic structure should be followed, certain regulations and policies have to be respected throughout the world, that is how better result can be seen, the new horizons of efficiency can be discovered and mutual gains can be welcomed.
The international Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Standards Organization (ISO) and (ITU) are the leading standard setting organizations in the world, their objective is to make objectives more easier and manageable without any wastage. It is quite obvious that if a same structural pattern is followed by the whole world, how easy it can become, it is a lot safer and involves lesser risk. In a systematic pattern, wastage is reduced and sufficiency is increased. The world Standards day gives us a message of quality and efficiency, it shows how possibilities can be endless, how dreams can be livable and how mutual cooperation can lead towards the fulfillment of destiny. If standards are followed, many benefits are to be gained. The likelihood of certain objectives is increased, proactive management is encouraged, one is aware of the need of indentifying and treating the risk, the opportunity and threats are improved.
Aristotle said, “ Man is a social animal. “ Since man is a social animal, it is impossible for him to survive on his own, he has to interact with other people, he has to cooperate with them for the sake of social balance, he has to sacrifice and give some of his rights away for the betterment of the whole social structure, so every person of the community could be equal and he could enjoy the same amount of right as the other does. The Standardization concept bore so much importance even in the Greek Civilization. In this modern age, things have reached systematic values, mutual cooperation results in mutual gains. It improves financial reporting and governance. It also becomes the vital reason to improve the stakehold confidence and trust. It is much easier to take control of, to take hold of the company, much easier to moniter tasks if they are under a global benchmark bearing the same standards. Resources are effectively allocated and used for the risk treatment. No doubt if the operations would be effective, the efficiency would be automatically effective. Safety and health performance have an inredible value as well as environmental protection, these things are managed by standards. Losses are minimum because a standards offer nothing but efficiency.
The world standard’s day which is celebrated every year on October 14th, conveys a very important message, it fuels global harmony, mutual cooperation, mutual gains including less waste and better results. Certain rules and principles are provided by IEC, ISO and ITU, which is a sort of instruction manuel which helps to understand the standards and technicality of the nature of the organization and its functions. Indeed it provides less waste and better results. A child cannot survive on itself, he has to follow his parents, master the instruction manual which their parents programmed in him, a child cannot survive on its own, he cannot draw a line between evil and virtue, good and bad, reality and imagination, only his parents guide him, only they teach him how to live and they do it systematically by putting himself so he could get the basic knowledge and understandings. Same is the case with the standardization commissions, they are the fathers. The organizations are children, if they do not follow their parents, if they do not follow a certain set of principles, then they will be lost and wandering around like a little kid, but if they follow a systematic structure through standardization, they can reduce waste and get positive results in the form of heavy gains.
