Movie Review: Student of the year

Student of the year directed by Karan Johar has been a commercial success. Another story with the love triangle, mashed up well by Johar. Very musical and delightful, new faces were on-screen which attracted a huge amount of audience to the cinemas. Zee TV of india, gave its review and said that all the glitters is not gold, the tagline, “ Competition of life “ was not so justified. A couple which was the eye candy in the school were bound together by their class which was aristocracy and not by love, there is a common thought in people’s mind that “ Jodis are made in the skies “, well Rohan and Shanaya was not that kind of Jodi, they came together because both belonged to the same class. Well then comes Abhi, another debutant with rich reflexes, dashing personality but a moderate background, having dreams to achieve so much. Initially a fight with the two heroes and then it turns into friendship but then the heroine: Shanaya, becomes the rope of the tug of war between the two characters. Every student of the school looked up to the trophy of student of the year, Since Shanaya fueled up the emotions of the both the protagonists, they were fully determined to get the tropy of the student of the year. Simple story, with lots of remixes of old songs, a bit homosexual twist from the Dean of the school who was very gentle towards the football coach. Music was highly intriguing, acting and portrayal of the story was excellent, Johar’s work is highly admired once again. Special appearance of Kajol was also surprising. I will not disclose how the movie ended because it will cut the throat of the suspense which people developed by watching the promo songs and trailers before the release of the movie. Overall this movie was good and it is totally worth watching, it would be a great tribute to the debutants and it is worth every penny.
